Azuri Fae Caledonia Fae Book 2 eBook India Drummond
I have read the first three books in this series now. I must say that each book was well thought out as to plot, characters and pace. Usually in a series there is one book that is a bit of a disappointment because the author seems either tired of the characters or feels obligated to satisfy readers with a book that puts a reader drawn scenario to work. India Drummond has NOT done that. I love it. Each book sands well alone, but continues a unique theme that does not follow preconceived ideas about the fae (except that they look down on humans, which saddens me). Each of the plots feels unique to the world of the fae and completely believable. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in fairyland.Tags : Azuri Fae (Caledonia Fae, Book 2) - Kindle edition by India Drummond. Download it once and read it on your Kindle device, PC, phones or tablets. Azuri Fae Caledonia Fae Book 2 eBook India Drummond Reviews
Better than the first one, more development of the characters with new twists and compelling story.
I read book 1 and enjoyed it so I read this book, still gripped I read book 3 and then book 4. I'm now halfway though book 5 and soon I'll finish that and read though book 6. The books keep getting better with new twists and surprises and more is revealed about the characters from earlier books, I'd recommend these books to anyone that enjoys fantasy novels.
I read all of Drummonds books of this series and loved them all including of course this one. These are among some of my favorite books of all time and I just couldn't get enough. I am glad I discovered him after he was done writing the series because it would have drove me insane to have to wait for each of the next books in the series to come out. Thankfully after getting hooked on the firsty one I devoured the rest one after the other till I was done with them all and I still check from time to time hoping there will be another some how, a sort of follow up book hint, hint, Mr. Drummon.
Second book in this series and it's getting better and better! Love Quinton. There was a few moments in this book that had my eyes watering. Highly recommend!!
This series was one of my recommendations. So I borrowed the first book Blood Faerie through the Lending Library and never regretted the decision, so I continued to the next book in the series. This is a good read and the story truly transports you into a living breathing world of the fae. There are twists and turns in the plot and it keep the reader engaged, but not burdened with detail or lags in the story. Not giving any information about the book it where I have to give it only a 4 star rating, but it really doesn't reflect the authors talent it more of a personal issues with how the book ended and some the choices that were made between the characters in the plot. But, that like I said is personal reasons, so I have to say I'm bias because there is some small hope that the third may find a way to work back to what I hope will happen with the main characters. But, regardless, I definitely will read the third book when it comes out and that itself should lend to the idea that is a good read and good series definitely worth the read.
I got the first book in this series for free and I bought this second book because the story was that good.
"Azuri Fae" finds our heroes on the trail of a missing prince. Political intrigue follows as the pair must try to avert a war that threatens the existence of all Azuri Fae. New revelations are made in the Otherworld and the two uncover an unlikely ally. The relationship between the two goes to a different level as Eilidh figures out what she wants from her druid.
This second book held my attention although there were small parts here and there that tended to drag on a bit. The action scenes were better written although, more practice with these kinds of scenes would be recommended. There was just a bit of predictability with the missing prince mystery and with the Queen of the Faerie Kingdom, but overall, it was a well written book that kept me turning pages. I stayed up all night to finish it.
India Drummond is quickly becoming one of my favorite indie authors, and I don't have many.
Guess I'm buying the next one.
I loved the first book and thought this series had so much potential which is why I was truly disappointed with the way this book turned the story. In general it is an easy, fun read that is imaginative and at times humorous, but lacked in character depth, character continuity, and (I can’t believe I am saying this as a male in my 30’s) romance. Some of my issues so LOOK OUT! Spoilers ahead.
Munro after learning he basically has magical powers and is nearly ripped apart magically in the 1st book decides to go back to work and learn his powers on his own? He doesn’t take some time off and go learn from the Azuri and spend time with the mind-linked women he loves, Eilidh?
We also know from the 1st book that Munro likes history and is a detective yet he never seems to ask any questions (history, culture, etc.) about the Fae, the Azuri, their connections with humans in the past, or even Eilidh’s past, thoughts, or hopes for the future (something you might do in a relationship). Some of which can be forgiven, but to never really think about Eilidh or spend much time with her to know how she or the Azuri live within human society seems a little farfetched for a mind-linked, history loving detective. He never seeks to understand or address the arrogance and discrimination the Fae hold against humanity. From this story, seems like we are at least doing better in the realms of deductive reasoning, individual rights, and governance.
We are told the Fae/Azuri are much older and more mature than humans and yet it’s the Fae/Azuri who make hasty plans. There are many instances of this but in particular it was the idea that the Azuri never made any back up plans in case they were ever attacked. They set up magical barriers but never thought of doing anything else over 1000 years of banishment? The only person in this story that seems to act with any maturity is Alyssa.
I suppose my biggest grudge is the lack of romance within the story. We are told that Eilidh comes from a culture where promiscuity is normal except for the royal couple which is held up as an ideal. Eilidh respects and believes in the royal commitment. Wouldn’t many of the Fae also strive for this? When Eilidh finds out the truth and the Prince tries to seduce her with magic, she doesn’t find him or the act disgusting? When the Azuri and the Prince want to make Eilidh Queen and she therefore must marry and eventually mate with the Prince, Munro/Eilidh do not fight very hard against the idea and neither does anyone else. There is nobody else within the Fae that is acceptable? Eilidh/Munro couldn’t journey to a new land with the druids and anybody else who wanted to come. It’s a big world out there, find a new home!!! One that’s not so close to a crazy, genocidal queen. In accordance with being long-lived people their idea is to replace their powerful homicidal queen with another queen that’s mind-linked to a druid? A connection none of them entirely understands and that could drive her insane if Munro is killed. These people are really smart (sarcasm)!!!
