I was worried about the lead character being a cheerleader but she's proven quite the heroine I love to read about in my fav type of novels , zombies! And there's some pretty good zombie descriptions in this one . But I love the story line . 2 best friends , a neighbor , and a guy are trying to make it to a cabin. Everyone's lost someone but Jane still hasn't been able to find her parents, who were in New York City when the dead started walking . Sounds like your everyday zombie novel but the writing is really good and the characters are so believable , just everyday people . I think that's what I like most about the book. There's several twists and turns which made me not want to put this book down . I read through it so fast . Can not wait to read book 2! Give it a try I think you'll like it . If you're a zombie fan !

ZombPocalypse eBook Megan Berry Reviews

The story was great but I don't understand why Jane has be a dumb cheerleader sometimes. It seems as though the writer goes out of her way to make her appear really dumb. Also, if she's a cheerleader, shouldn't some of her athleticism be to her advantage and not play against her?
I took a chance and purchased all three of the first three books in this series and I am very glad that I did . Megan Berry is a good writer and I enjoyed this book very much . I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys this type of reading material .
This story captured me right away. It is believable, and carried me right along with the survivors. I love the way the author writes. I finished this book, and right away ordered the next in the series. I love the characters, and can't wait to find out what happens next.
I really enjoyed the story and look forward to the next installment. Of course with the characters being teens there is teenage angst but the writing is good and hopefully the main female will get wiser the more time passes surviving the apocalypse. Good way to spend a couple days getting to know these characters.
This was such a good book, I was in serious withdrawal from a great series wind up and nothing hooked me until this one. Seeing the apocalypse through the eyes and sensibilities of a teenage girl is revealing, irritating, sad, and invigorating, the story is well written and pretty much a roller coaster ride, I am ready for the next drop, and watch these characters learn and grow as they navigate all the trials and surprises of a world infested with Zombies
When I first began this book and realized it was about a teenage cheerleader and her friends trying to survive a zombie apocalypse I didn't really expect much. Thankfully I was very wrong. The characters are distinct, well thought out individuals who are forced to make hard, mature decisions mostly on instinct or luck, yet the longer they survive the more they learn and the better they become at surviving in a world where even the most well trained are falling all around them. Realistic reactions and emotions make these young people feel more real and their situations much more plausible. I look forward to reading the next book!
First up, as a middle-aged man, I fully admit I'm not in the target demographic for this book. I love zombie stories, though, and I picked this one up for free, so thank you to the author for making that an option.
Overall, the story kept moving along at a good pace, and the character interactions felt real enough (and again, I'm looking through a different lens—most or all of the characters are in a stage of life I left behind a long time ago!)
All that being said, I would love to see the story receive a thorough and hard-handed edit. I didn't notice a great deal of trouble with spelling mistakes or missing words...might've been there but you'll find 'em in any book. Really it boiled down to one factor run-on sentences. They're all through the book and unfortunately it was prevalent enough to pull me out of the story.
It was a good intro to a series, though, and there's enough likability and variety in the main characters to keep a person reading.
